Bear the Brave
A not-so-fearless chapter book adventure about finding courage in unexpected places, for readers ages 7–10.
Kindle edition available for preorder now. Paperback available October 16.
Bear is a scaredy-cat who wishes he wasn’t.
He’s spent his whole life avoiding adventure, perfectly happy to leave anything scary to his older sister Moose and his much bigger brother Toast.
But when a mysterious voice whispers from beneath the refrigerator, promising something impossible, even Bear can’t ignore it.
Soon all three cats find themselves venturing into the dark forest behind their new home…
And what they discover there may be worth far more than treasure.
Meet the cats
Bear
Would rather not, thanks.
Our reluctant hero. Bear is smallish, skinnyish, and suspicious of anything that might be scary—which is mostly everything.
Knows things.
Moose is Bear’s older sister and, if you were to ask her, the smartest cat in the house. Maybe the world.
Moose
Toast
Enormous. Enthusiastic. Toast.
Toast is Bear’s much bigger brother. When he’s not tackling Bear, he’s either napping, trying to find bacon, or… tackling Bear.
Ready for an adventure?
Bear would prefer not to. Maybe just stay home? Comfy in bed? No? Okay, then.
Bear the Brave arrives October 16, 2026.
